Summer Goalie Instruction Camps
Classroom Sessions
Classroom sessions include talks from Jon and some of his NHL goalies on topics such as psychological preparation, confidence, a positive mental outlook, determination, mental toughness and the strength to overcome adversity. These discussions can cover other key components to successful goaltending such as distraction control, relaxation, focusing, refocusing, performance and competition planning and dealing with anxiety. Accepting responsibility for errors and bad goals, playing on a poor team, dealing with being a back-up, playing for a negative coach and many more issues will be discussed. Class time may also be used to watch Jon's Pro goaltenders train on the ice. The idea is that the views, outlooks, experiences and training habits of Jon's Pro goalies can be shared and learnt from. Technique and skill will take a goaltender only as far as his/her attitude will allow.
Testimonial
"As both a parent and a coach I was very pleased with not only the experience and knowledge that Jon was able to pass on to my son, but what I found most notable was Jon's ability to communicate with each individual and get the most out of each goaltender. I have known Jon for many years but to see him work first-hand with my son was very encouraging. My son went home each day more enthusiastic and passionate for the position then when he arrived. Great job Jon."
