Game Situations
Goalies are taught how to read and play all game situations: screens, deflections, one-timers, breakaways, odd-man situations, even-man situations, handling the puck, following a player cutting in front of the net, following a player cutting behind the net, pass-outs, walk-outs, passes across the net, scrambles, wrap-arounds, rebounds, high-zone, mid-zone and tight-zone plays etc.
Instructors
The school has developed a worldwide reputation for its exceptional staff. Demonstrations are powerful teaching tools. All Instructors wear their goalie pads to demonstrate properly the drills and techniques. The instructors play at a high level and personally train with Jon which ensures that they all teach the same techniques using the same language. Jon is at every session, all day, every day (Toronto camps only).
Shooters
Our school is also known for its great shooters. The shooters are of Pro, Jr. A and AAA calibre. They alter their shots according to the age and skill level of the goaltender who is in net.
Age & Calibre
Five years old to adults. Beginners to Pros. Each goalie will be grouped and drilled according to his/her skill level. REGULAR,ADVANCED, ELITE AND PRO GROUPINGS.
Vaughan Skills Competition
The competition takes place every Friday afternoon (Those in program #4 are allowed to compete twice.). This is not merely a showdown, but a competition that encompasses all the essential skills of goaltending. Six separate drills test the ability of the goaltender. A trophy and prizes courtesy of Vaughn are awarded to the winners.
Testimonial
"As both a parent and a coach I was very pleased with not only the experience and knowledge that Jon was able to pass on to my son, but what I found most notable was Jon's ability to communicate with each individual and get the most out of each goaltender. I have known Jon for many years but to see him work first-hand with my son was very encouraging. My son went home each day more enthusiastic and passionate for the position then when he arrived. Great job Jon."
