Here is his entry:
On game day there are certain things that I have to do to get into my zone. When we have a home game my day is different then a game on the road. When we’re at home I go to the rink in the morning at around 9 and ride the bike and stretch to loosen up. From there I go home and have about 6 ½ hours until I have to be back at the rink. As soon as I get home from the rink I have a big breakfast with eggs, toast, bacon, and potatoes. After, I relax for an hour on the couch and watch t.v. I then do something active like go for a walk. I then nap for about 1 ½ hours, get up and relax listening to music and visualize about the game. Then it’s time for my pre-game meal. My favorite is chicken and pasta with dried tomatoes. After eating I take a shower and get dressed. Then I grab toast and peanut butter. When I leave for the rink I have my ipod on and try to keep to myself. When I get to the rink I keep my music on and tape my stick, ride the bike, then stretch and throw a ball against the wall to get my eyes and hands warmed up. After about half an hour of being at the rink I turn my ipod off. Then it’s time to get dressed. I kind of keep to myself, but if there’s a funny joke I’ll laugh to stay relaxed.
On the road it’s different because I have to adapt to the situation and amount of time I have, but at the rink I do the same things as I would for a home game.
As far as superstitions or rituals, I like to tap my blocker post 3 times then the crossbar 3 times and then the blocker post 3 times again.
