All-Star Ouzas Wins in Double OT

Mike Ouzas and his University of New Brunswick mens hockey team advanced to the Canadian University Championship by earning a 3-2 double overtime victory on Thursday against Saint Mary's. Mike made 35 saves and was especially tough to beat when his team needed him the most. New Brunswick started the first overtime period a man short and "Ouzie" held tough.

The teams compete in the Atlantic University Sport Conference (AUS) of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) league. By winning the AUS title, New Brunswick advances to the national championship which starts next Thursday. Ouzas won the national championship last season in his first year of Canadian University hockey.

The 22 year old Hamilton, Ontario native was recently named to the AUS All-star team. He led the CIS in goals against average (1.74) and wins (20). He also led the AUS in save percentage (.924).

Ouzas had a solid OHL career, winning the Goalie of the Year award with the Mississauga Ice Dogs. He graduates this semester.
