Binner Sets Record with Shutout
Jordan Binnington set an Owen Sound Attack franchise record Saturday night for the most wins by a goalie and he did it in style recording a 35 save shutout over division rival Kitchener Rangers. The Attack won the game 4-0 which allowed them to hold on to the OHL lead with 33 points. "Binner's" 66th win moved him ahead of a Jon Elkin's Goalie Schools past student, Curtis Sanford. Sanford broke into the NHL with the St. Louis Blues, the team that has signed Binnington to a NHL contract after drafting him in the third round of the 2011 NHL draft. Last night's First Star performance showed why Jordan is one of the four goalies in contention to play for Team Canada in the prestigious World Junior Tournament at Christmas.
