Blackwood OHL Goalie of the Year
Mackenzie Blackwood received the OHL Goalie Of The Year award last night at the Hockey Hall of Fame for a stellar season marked by a 28-13-0-0 record, 3 shutouts, a GAA of 2.72 and a save percentage of .921.
Mac is a second round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils and will turn pro next season with the organization. A highlight of his final OHL season was being Team Canada's World Junior starter for the prestigous annual Christmas tournament.
Blackwood is the 6th Jon Elkin's Goalie Schools student to win the OHL top goalie award. The other recipients were: Andrew Raycroft, Andy Chiodo, Michael Ouzas, Chris Carrozzi and Jordan Binnington. Matt Murray of the Pittsburgh Penguins was a runner-up for the honour two seasons ago with the Soo Greyhounds.
