Chiodo, Carrozzi Win Gold

Two Jon Elkin's Goalie Schools students walked away with championship hardware recently. Although they both served in a back-up capacity, it is nevertheless a great honor to be part of a winning team: Andy Chiodo, a starter all season was traded to another team as insurance for their playoff run. It turns out it was a smart trade as his new team, Karpat, won the Finnish Elite League Champioship.

Chris Carrozzi, was named to Canada's Under 18 Team after a fine season in the OHL with the Mississauga St. Michaels Majors. The team went undefeated in the tournament held in Russia and Chris flew back to Canada with a gold medal....

Mole Called up to Islanders

Yesterday, Mike Mole became the third Jon Elkin's Goalie Schools student to be called up to the NHL this season. He was promoted from Bridgeport of the AHL on Thursday and dressed for the Islanders' 3-1 loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Earlier in the day, Danny Taylor was called up from Los Angeles' AHL squad in Manchester and backed-up against the Phoenix Coyotes.

Chris Beckford-Tseu, a St. Loius Blues' prospect, spent most of February in the NHL backing up Manny Legace during the Blues' playoff drive. He played half a game and comported himself very well.

Testimonial

"Jon has been a good friend for many years. I appreciated his help working with me while I was playing for the Calgary Flames. Last summer, when my son decided to become a goaltender, I contacted Jon. In one weeks time, my son turned into a solid, steady, confident goaltender who understands the meaning of dedication. Jon's choice of progressive drills combined with the intensity of his program proved to be a winning combination."
