Goalie Brothers Kicking Rubber
Justin Peters stopped 68 of 69 shots over the weekend for the Charlotte Checkers (AHL). On Friday he made 27 of 28 saves in a 5-1 win. On Saturday, he stole the show with a 41 save 1-0 sutout. (Click here for more details).
Not to be outdone by his older brother, Anthony starred for his St. Mary's Huskies team in the first round of Canadian University (CIS) hockey playoffs making 82 of 84 saves over the weekend. Saturday, Anthony stopped 41 of 43 shots in a 3-2 win. On Sunday, he duplicated Justin's shutout with a 1-0 fourty-one save shutout of his own. To read more about Anthony's games click here and here
The brothers from Blythe, Ontario both played in the OHL. Justin, who is 26, was drafted and signed by the Carolina Hurricanes. He has played 28 games in the NHL so far. Anthony, who is 22, suffered a severe broken leg in a car crash which caused him to miss a whole year of junior hockey. He is undrafted, but keeps developing and working on his game playing at the top level of Canadian Division 1 College hockey.
