Majors get big game in goal
TAKE 6TH PLACE
The Mississauga St. Michaels Majors received clutch goaltending from Brendan Maxwell Wednesday night in Belleville against the Bulls. Maxwell was brilliant on many occasions and always under control making a tough game look easy. He stopped 34 of 36 shots and was named the game's First Star.
It was an important win for the Majors moving them from 8th to 6th place in a tight Conference race to make the playoffs. The win resulted in Mississauga jumping one point in the standings over Belleville.
On the other side of the ice stood underage rookie goalie Charlie Graham, who has filled in superbly for Belleville's injured starter. Graham had a solid game as well, but unfortuntely came up one save short.
