Murray Wins Stanley Cup
Matt Murray delivered and he delivered big. Taking over for an injured Marc Andre Fleury, Murray provided the type of goaltending the Penguins needed to win the Stanley Cup. He became only the fourth rookie goalie to lead his team to the championship putting his name alongside the greats Ken Dryden, Patrick Roy and most recently, Cam Ward. His 15 playoff wins equaled an NHL record.
Matt is the first Jon Elkin's Goalie Schools student to win the cup. He has been coming to the school since he was 9 or 10 years old - every summer until today. The journey, as most, has featured many ups and downs. Along the way, Matt learned how to win and his name will be immortalized on the Stanley Cup as a result.
