Peters, Missiaen called up to NHL
Two students have been called up to the NHL this week. Justin Peters, a 27 year old veteran of 3 NHL seasons was called up from the AHL to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.
Jason Missiaen, 23, is experiencing his first taste of the NHL. He was called up Thursday by the New York Rangers from The Hartford Wolfpack, AHL. The 6'8" goalie may likely be the tallest goalie to ever suit up in the league. Jon Elkin coached him since he broke into the OHL as a 15 year old with the Peterborough Petes.
Peters was also an OHL grad having played for the St. Michaels Majors and the Plymouth Whalers.
