Peters Posts Key Shutout Win
Justin Peters stopped all 22 shots he faced for his Charlotte Checkers Tuesday night in American Hockey League action. They defeated the Rockford Icehogs, the Chicago Blackhawks' farm team, 3-0. It was an enormous win for the Carolina Hurricanes' AHL squad as they enter the final weekend of the regular season in a fight for a playoff berth with five other teams: all within a point of each other. Peters was named the First Star of the match.
"Pete Dawg" was sent back down to the AHL last month after filling in as Cam Wards' backup for an injured Brian Boucher. Justin sparkled for the Canes with a .931 save percentage.
