Weekend Roundup

This past weekend not only saw Jordan Binnington make team Canada, but it was confirmed that he will be one of the first two goalies and not the emergency backup.

Tyson Teichmann had a big weeknd for the mississauga Steelheads in OHL action. On Friday he lost in a shootout 2-1, but only after making 40 saves and earning 2nd star honours. On Saturday, playing in his hometown Belleville, Tys stopped 34 shots in a 3-1 victory and was the game's 3rd star.

Matt Murray also had a strong weekend for his Soo St. Marie Greyhounds. He stopped 34 Friday in a 2-1 overtime win and was 1st star of the match. On Sunday, he stopped 19 shots in a 4-1 win over the Windsor Spitfires.

In the AHL, Justin Peters shutout Houston 3-0 on Saturday with 23 stops to his credit and 1st star honours. The Carolina Hurricane's goalie followed up with a 22 save 2-1 win over San Antonio on Sunday. Chris Carrozzi also earned a shutout this weekend making 21 saves in ECHL action.
